Board signals support for Western Power CEO

Western Power chairman Malcom Macpherson said yesterday the board of West Australian electricity utility had complete confidence in chief executive David Eiszele despite his opposition to the Cabinet-endorsed disaggregation plan announced by the WA Government this week.

Mr Macpherson said that while the Western Power board would cooperate with the policy to disaggregate the electricity utility into four separate entities, it would not necessarily endorse the government's reform process.

"This is about policy. We don't have to endorse anything but we do have to co-operate," said Mr Macpherson.
