New wind farm for Oz, Pacific Hydro announces big profit

Australia has a new wind farm. The $2.4 million Hampton Wind Park, located in near Lithgow in central NSW, will consist of two 660kW Vestas V-47 wind turbines, each 74 metres in total height with rotors 47 metres in diameter.

The project was completed by Sinclair Knight Merz on behalf of venture capital firm, CVC-REEF (Wind Corporation Australia) and the farm's owners, Hampton Wind Park Company.

The Wind Park will generate around 1.32 megawatts of electricity, which will be purchased by Integral Energy and supplied into the local 11kV rural network.

In other news from the renewable energy sector, Australian energy company, Pacific Hydro, announced a 37 per cent rise in net profit after tax to $22 million for the six months to December 31.
