WA EPA reveals new draft GHG guidelines

THE Western Australian Environmental Protection Authority today released its revised emissions guidelines, officially scrapping the controversial requirement for all major new resources projects or expansions to offset 100% of emissions from now in a draft released today.

Under the new guidelines, EPA chairman Tom Hatton said the onus would now be on industry to demonstrate "(they are) doing all they could to mitigate greenhouse gas emissions".
