Controlling Gina Krog

THE integrated control and safety system, and power package for the Gina Krog floating, storage and offloading unit is to come from Kongsberg Maritime.

Controlling Gina Krog

The Gina Krog is going to Statoil-operated Gina Krog field on the Norwegian continental shelf in the North Sea.

Kongsberg's project scope includes design, engineering, manufacturing, testing and supply of all materials, equipment, accessories and tools required for the complete ICSS, medium voltage switchboard, low voltage switchboard, thruster transformers, thruster drives, thruster motors and 230-volt AC distribution for installation and operation on the FSO.

Teekay Shipping recently entered an agreement with Statoil to provide the FSO for the field.

The $US220 ($A235) million conversion project is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2017. After that the converted FSO will start work under a time-charter contract to Statoil.

Those systems are due to start being delivered in the second quarter of 2014.
