Calling for the SAS

STATOIL has awarded Kongsberg Maritime a project-specific agreement including front-end engineering and design for the delivery of a safety automation system to the four Johan Sverdrup field platforms.

Calling for the SAS

The PSA includes an option for delivery of safety and automation equipment including detail engineering services and commissioning services.

The agreement is subject to Statoil's final investment decision on the project.

The delivery will be based on Kongsberg Maritime's core SAS technology for process control, power-distribution control, process shutdown, emergency shutdown and fire and gas systems.

The latest generations of Kongsberg Maritime SAS technology for production, integration, presentation, simulation, training and operation have been included.

Kongsberg Maritime president Geir Haoy said the company had installed similar systems on 10 Statoil production platforms.
