Woodside said in a stock exchange release that preliminary evaluation of the wireline log data indicated the well had intersected several oil bearing sandstones in the primary objective over a 94 metre gross hydrocarbon interval in the well. A shallower zone was also encountered which contained gas bearing sandstones over a 3 metre interval.

The well was at the total planned depth of 2,655 metres.

Hardman stock finished up 13% for the day at 84c after closing yesterday at 74c. Woodside and Roc Oil also finished stronger.
