A new field discovery by Santos USA in Texas Gold Coast

Santos Ltd announced a new natural gas and condensate discovery in the prolific Frio trend of South Texas this week, continuing the company's record of successes in the trend this year.

Its onshore Henderson-1 well has discovered several gas zones amounting to a total of 169 feet of net gas pay. The well flowed gas at a rate of 11 million cubic feet a day, and flowed condensate at a rate of 44 barrels a day.

The well has been shut-in ahead of being connected to a pipeline, with first sales from the well expected in early December. Santos is planning to drill a delineation well in early 2002 to help quantify the size of the discovery.

Santos has a 25 per cent stake in Henderson with partner Suemaur Exploration & Production LLC having a 12.5% working interest. The remaining stakeholders are made of private interests.
