Gocerler-3 continues good Turkish run

Perth-based Amity Oil has continued its good run in Turkey with its appraisal well, Gocerler-3, recording excellent gas shows while drilling through the target reservoirs. Logs indicated three stacked gas bearing reservoirs similar to Gocerler-1, with the thickest at the bottom. This lower reservoir has 42m of gross gas pay (36.5m net) in the 1258-1300m interval.

After flow testing, Amity Oil said it planned to link the well to the Gocerler Gas Processing plant. The two upper gas bearing intervals will not be perforated but will be brought into production when the lower reservoir is drawn down, the company said.

The Gocerler-3 well is operated by Amity Oil International, which has 50 per cent stake in the well with Turkiye Petrolleri Anonim Ortakligi having the other half share.
