Leafcutter-1 will test the upthrown block of the Beagle Ridge west of the onshore Woodada Gas Field. The primary target is the Permian High Cliff Sandstone at a depth of around 1,315m.

Secondary targets include sandstones within the Irwin River Coal Measures and sandstone and/or limestone within the Carynginia Formation, the targets have not previously been tested by drilling.

The well will be located eight kilometres west of the Woodada-19 gas production well within the Woodada Production Licence (L4), about 260km north of Perth, Western Australia.

A period of 16 days has been estimated for the completion of drilling and testing operations at Leafcutter-1 to a total depth of 1,400m.

Hardman Resources (operator) 75% and Bounty Oil & Gas (25%) recently tested flow rates of around 4.8 to 5 million cubic feet per day following the tie-in of the Woodada-19 gas well.

Hardman purchased the field from the Griffen Group in June 2001. Bounty provides production engineering and field operations management for Hardman.
