Woodside spuds another in GoM

The well is the fourth of an eight well program that Woodside and Pioneer Natural Resources have agreed to drill in 2003 and 2004.

To date the program has come up dry in the Gulf of Mexico with the Samoa #1 exploratory well and Roatan-1 well located in Brazos Area Block A 10 both being plugged and abandoned.

Pioneer Natural Resources, operator of the prospect, will use the Rowan Paris drilling rig to drill the well. Water depth at the location is 149 feet and planned total depth is around 21,500 feet.

Woodside and Pioneer are equal participants in well.
