Drillsearch acquires new Bonaparte Basin seismic

Sydney-based Drillsearch Energy has announced it has acquired new seismic data from its exploration permits in the Southern Bonaparte Gulf, offshore Western Australia.

Drillsearch told the market the additional 1,825km of new high resolution 2D and reprocessed 2D seismic data has been merged with 795km of seismic gathered earlier in the year, which showed several major direct hydrocarbon indicator (DHI) anomalies.

"The total data set will be used to image the DHI anomalies located so far in more detail," Drillsearch said. "Technical planning has also commenced with the intention of commencing 3D seismic surveys during early 2003."

The new seismic data was acquired in Drillsearch's wholly-owned permits, WA-317P, WA-318P and WA-319P.
