July spud date for Sellicks well, Cooper Basin

Beach Petroleum, operator of the Sellicks-1 well in the South Australian section of the Cooper Basin, has told the stock exchange today that the well is now expected to spud in July.

Beach told the exchange that the arrival of the drilling rig at the Sellicks well would be delayed by appraisal drilling of the recent Acrasia oil discovery. Participants in Sellicks-1, which is located in PEL 92, are Beach (operator, 75%) and Cooper Energy (25%).

Following the drilling of Sellicks-1, the rig will move to drill a well within PEL 93 for Stuart Petroleum (operator, 70%) and Cooper Energy NL (30%). This well, expected to spud in August, will be followed by an appraisal well on the Paning structure within PEL 90, in which Stuart has a 75% stake and is operator with Cooper holding the remainder.
