Novus give up deep US gas hopes

After extensive testing Novus and partners have bitten the bullet and declared the deeper gas zones of the Dunn Murdoch non-commercial.

Novus said the test program of two zones in the deep section of the well had now been completed with gas flowing in both tests but not at commercial rates.

It said the bottom section of the well had now been abandoned and a completion of the shallow "Tomato" reservoir was being run. The rate at which the upper, conventional "Tomato" sands will flow gas is not known. Novus said it would advise of the results of the upper zone when available.
