NZ conference: Discovery Geo plan more activity

Discovery Geo president Bernett Martin said his Houston-based company was considering having a magnetic survey and possibly more seismic done in coastal Taranaki licence PEP 38722, with a view perhaps sidetracking the suspended Warea-1 well drilled last year.

The "nightmare" of a drilling programme, caused in part by hitting a volcanic intrusion, had not dimmed Discovery Geo's hope of encountering worthwhile hydrocarbons in the Eocene-aged Kapuni sands with a sidetrack or second well.
