New find in Pakistani Nawabshah

After months of prospecting, engineers from Pakistan's Oil and Gas Development Corp (OGDC) have discovered reserves of high quality oil and gas at Noabad near Nawabshah. This new site is expected to produce around 3,000 barrels of oil and 40 million square feet of gas daily.

While this discovery is a piece of good news, it is also a welcome relief as OGDC were forced to look for alternative sources of oil and gas following the fire at damaged the oil wells at Boby oil field. This new field is expected to aid Pakistan's national economy to the tune of US$70,000 per day.

What is sweeter, though, is the fact that the oil discovered from this site is of better quality than that discovered earlier from other sites in the province, containing 44% super oil and 22% of diesel proportion.
