Amity returns to Adatepe

Amity has begun its 2004 drilling campaign in Turkey spudding D. Adatepe-1, the fourth development well on the Adatepe Field.

Amity returns to Adatepe

The well is located 6.5km southeast of the Gocerler Gas Field in Petroleum Exploration Licence AR/AOI/3338, which forms part of "Area B" of the Thrace Joint Venture and is 120km west of Istanbul in Turkey's onshore Thrace Basin.

The Adatepe structure is a faulted anticlinal closure located on a northwest-southeast trending fault bound horst in an area coincident with strong amplitudes on the 3D seismic data.

D. Adatepe-1 will test the hydrocarbon and reservoir potential of the Danismen sands to appraise the production potential and extent of the Adatepe Field.

Previously Adatepe-3 had made it three out of three for Amity in the Adatepe field following a successful production test from the well over an 11.5m gas bearing interval.

The test was run from an interval in the Danismen Formation, the lowest of the five gas zones encountered in thewell, which add up to a 34.5m net log pay. The amount of net pay in Adatepe-3 also significantly exceeds the total net pays encountered in the other two wells.

Participants in the well are Amity Oil International 50% and Türkiye Petrolleri A.O. 50% (operator).
