Geochemical survey high-grades Red Centre prospects: Rawson

JUNIOR explorer Rawson Resources says a recently completed soil gas survey in its 100% owned permit EP97, Pedirka Basin, Northern Territory has increased the company’s confidence in the lease’s prospectively.

“Over 400 samples were taken over the Simpson, Bejah, and Colson prospects by both a helicopter sampling crew and a ground party,” Rawson said.

“Anomalous values of ethane and propane were recorded over a large portion of the crest of the Simpson prospect.

“This highgrades the prospect… the presence of micro seepage of ethane and propane has previously been associated with the presence of oilfields in the Eromanga basin.”

The company said this was its first field operation in this lease and met Rawson’s second-year commitment under the permit terms.

Discussions with potential farm-in partners would now continue following the survey, according to Rawson.
