BURLESON Energy’s first well has been connected to a sales pipeline, after flowing at an unstabilised rate of 5.59 million cubic feet per day on clean-up.

The Perth-based company said the Yegua Properties Unit-1 gas/condensate well, in Burleson County Texas, has continued to perform above expectations, and it is managing flow rates and restricting the choke to clean-up drilling fluids.

It planned to determine a stabilised flow rate once these fluids have been expelled from the well bore.

YPU-1, drilled in April, is the first of up to 25 wells that Burleson plans to drill at its 25,000 acres of landholding in Texas.

The company is drilling the second well Rocket-2, designed to appraise the Champions area by drilling a single lateral into the Austin Chalk reservoir.

Site preparations are underway for the next two Champions area wells, the first of which is Jet 3, which is 3.22km northwest of Rocket-2.
