Emerald plans North Dakota wells

EMERALD Oil & Gas plans to drill two exploration wells back to back from mid July at its Greenbush prospect in North Dakota, US.

The first well will test Bakken Shale formation targeting potential recoverable reserves of more than 4.5 million barrels of oil and 5.5 billion cubic feet of gas, and evaluate a Pinnacle reef target mapped from D seismic.

The second shallower well will test the Shewood and Mohall oolitic build-ups.

Emerald said the Bakken Shale is an oil producer to the south and west in North Dakota and Montana as well as to the North in Saskatchewan, Canada.

The company has a 15% working interest in this prospect.
