Statoil hits 200m column

STATOIL and its joint venture partners, Eni Norge and Petoro AS, have proved a 200m gas column while drilling the 7219/8-2 well in the Barents Sea.

The well on PL608 is in the Iskrystall prospect and has been estimated to contain 6-25 million barrels of oil equivalent. The well was drilled using the West Hercules rig, which will now move to PL532...
