MELBOURNE-based Karoon Energy has lodged a request with the National Offshore Petroleum Titles Authority (NOPTA) to surrender its permit WA-314-P in the Browse Basin, offshore Western Australia.
Karoon originally held high hopes for the permit, which it has a 100% interest in after buying out ConocoPhillips' 50% stake.
