ITALY’s Eni has applied to surrender its lease over WA-34-R in the Bonaparte Basin, offshore Western Australia in the Timor Sea.

WA-34-R spans roughly 418 sq.km and contains the Prometheus and Rubicon gas fields first discovered in 2000. Eni bought its interest in the lease from Woodside Petroleum in 2005.
