MONGOLIA-focussed Elixir Energy is celebrating the spudding of its second core-hole well, Nomgon-1, in the Permian sub-basin, tempered by the disappointing results from its permeability report on the nearby Ugtaal-1 well.

Nomgon-1 is roughly 37 kilometres south west of Ugtaal-1 near the Chinese border and was first identified as being prospective for CSG exploration by Elixir's subsidiary company four years ago.
