Seven permits  slashed for exploration over environmental concerns 

THOSE who were watching the large, northern Australia-focussed acreage release of yesterday may have noted one thing: three large permits close to shore in the Carnarvon Basin flagged for the acreage release after industry nominations earlier this year were absent the final 42 block offer.

In fact seven blocks nominated by industry were cut from an initial 49 put out for public comment earlier this year, from the Ningaloo Reef, Shark Bay and the Kimberly after a letter with 30,000 signatures...
