BHP approves A$1.3 billion for GoM oil projects

BHP has allocated US$696 million (A$981 million) to fund its 44% stake in the development of the Atlantis 3 project, and will separately spend a further US$256 (A$360 million) on its Trion field in the US Gulf of Mexico, for a total just shy of $1 billion.
