CONOCOPHILLIPS has posted a US$1 billion loss for the second quarter, blaming the oil price crash and soft demand caused by COVID-19.

Last week the major oiler reported earnings of US$300 million, less than one fourth of its earnings in the corresponding period of 2019 when it posted earnings of $1.6 billion.
