WITH Halliburton's proposed merger with Baker Hughes dead in the water, underwater specialist FMC Technologies has risen up with engineering house Technip to form a new entity – TechnipFMC – to become the world's second-largest oil field services firm worth some $US13 billion ($A17.99 billion).
