Gas Industry Forum 2002 in fortnight

The Australian Gas Association has announced its 'Gas Industry Forum 2002' will be held on Tuesday, 25 June at the Sheraton Towers Hotel, Southbank in Melbourne.

Chief executive of the AGA, Bill Nagle, said 2002 is shaping up to be a big year for gas industry players and urged them to attend the forum to get the latest news on critical issues facing the industry.

"The CoAG initiated Energy Market Review, the response to the Productivity Commission's Inquiry into the National Access Regime, the foreshadowed Review of the National Gas Code, and the commencement of Full Retail Contestability for natural gas in a number of major markets, all make 2002 a watershed year for the national gas market," Mr Nagle said.

Some of the speakers attending the forum include Professor Allan Fels from the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, Ollie Clark from the Australian Gas Association as well as Christine O'Reilly from GasNet Australia.
