IDM buys Electronic Power Controls

IDM Equipment has announced it has acquired 100% of the assets of Electronic Power Controls, and electronics engineering consulting and service company specialising in power and control systems for the oil drilling industry.

As a result of the acquisition, EPC's operations will be relocated to a new facility adjacent to IDM's Houston rig manufacturing facility along with Diversified Electrical Systems operations which IDM Equipment acquired earlier this year.

The combined operations will be integrated into IDM's Control Systems Division. David Carroll, president of EPC will become general manager of the Control Systems Division of IDM.

IDM Equipment's Control Systems Division manufactures SCR controls, AC variable frequency drives, PLC systems and complete integrated drilling rig power, control and monitoring systems.

"The acquisition of EPC further strengthens IDM's ability to provide its clients with quality control system, strong electrical engineering and field service support," the company said.
