Eastern Star spuds Coonarah-8

Coonarah-8 is being drilled as a gas development well 600 metres north-east of Coonarah-4. It is targeting an Early Permian sand in the Maules Creek Formation which is currently producing gas from the Coonarah-1B, 3, 4 and 5 production wells.

The second well in the drilling program will be Coonarah-7.

Both wells are close to the company-owned pipeline that delivers gas to the Wilga Park Power Station, which has been expanded from 10 MW to 12 MW to accept additional gas.
