Basker-Manta still inching towards full output

Anzon yesterday said since commissioning began on December 17, a maximum oil rate of 13,500 barrels of oil per day (bopd) had flowed from the Manta-2A, Basker 2, 3 and 5 wells, with gas injection, as planned into Basker-4.

The company last week said full production rates had not yet been achieved because the gas injection compressor (a 7500HP gas turbine-driven centrifugal compressor) was undergoing balancing and tuning as required of any new installation.

But the compressor has now been fully commissioned, it said.

Anzon said rates are continuing to be “ramped up” to the planned levels of 25,000bopd, with all associated gas injected into Basker-4 at up to 35 million cubic feet per day.

The participants in the Basker-Manta joint venture are operator Anzon Australia (50%) and Beach Petroleum (50%).
