The Perth-based company, which has a 5% working interest in the gas well, yesterday said it spudded on February 14.

High Island 24L-1’s proposed total vertical depth is 4572m and is about 1090m northwest of the discovery well.

It is expected to take about 60 days to drill.

“Assuming this well is successful, it is planned to tie it back to the original facilities, which are engineered to process up to 80 million cubic feet per day,” Entek said.

The original facilities – comprising deck and facilities – are expected to be installed at the discovery well location in April.
