Padre well ahead of schedule: Golden Gate

The Perth-based company today said the Kindee ST949-1 well is at 7937 feet (2419m) and drilling forward to a planned total depth of 12,400ft.

The well is targeting the upper Frio system at similar depths to Golden Gate’s existing production at La Playa Deep and La Playa Shallow to the North and Dunn Peach-6 to the South.

Golden Gate said these wells are currently producing at a combined rate of 6.3 million cubic feet of gas per day and the company’s gross share of this output is around 2MMcfd.

Wilson has an unrisked potential of 21 billion cubic feet, it said.

The company also said final farm-in issues with Cinco Resources, which was due to have a 15% interest, were unable to be resolved.

The adjusted working interests in Kindee ST949-1 are now Golden Gate with a 58.23% working interest, Modena Resources (10%) and Pantheon Resources (31.77%).
