Chevron races to finish LNG expansion

CHEVRON Corporation has cut its global 2017 capital budget in half, and of the almost $US20 billion ($A26.8 billion) budget around 10% will be allocated to Australia’s North West Shelf, primarily completing the Wheatstone and Gorgon LNG projects.

Chairman and CEO John Watson said yesterday that 42% had been slashed from the 2015 capex budget, to $19.88 billion, of which around $2 billion will be allocated to its assets in Western Australia.
