The Texas-based engineering and construction firm will be responsible for the engineering, procurement, construction and pre-commissioning of two 120,000 cubic metre full containment liquefied natural gas storage tanks, three condensate tanks and associated civil, piping, electrical and instrumentation work.

"We are pleased to have been selected for this project which demonstrates Woodside's ongoing confidence in our ability to complete projects on schedule and on budget, chief executive Philip Asherman said.

The Pluto LNG Project, located about 20km northwest of Karratha, is a liquefaction facility with a forecast production of 4.3 million tonnes per annum.

The project is due to be completed in 2010.
