"Darwin is being considered, as are other sites, including the Maret Islands," external affairs manager Sean Kildare said.

"A decision is expected by the end of the year."

Inpex said it continues to have "a good relationship" with the Western Australian government and is working with the government's Northern Development Taskforce, which is currently assessing and shortlisting possible sites for a Kimberley common-user LNG hub.
