Heatwave causes power outages as AEMO instructs load shedding

AT MIDDAY today, the Australian Energy Market Operator cut power to over 60,000 customers in Victoria as the state sweltered through a second day of extreme heat and generators struggled to keep up with grid supply as power generators failed.
