Loy Yang out for longer than first thought

LOY Yang A power station operator AGL Energy has revealed that an outage at the station’s Unit 2 that had been expected to keep the power station out of service for two to four months caused more damage than first expected.

The power station, in Victoria's Latrobe Valley, has three 560 megawatt units and one 535MW unit that run on brown coal from the adjacent Loy Yang coal mine.
