TS7 wraps up Enfield project

TECHNIP Subsea 7 Asia Pacific successfully completed the Enfield 2007 Rigid E Spool Installation Project last week.

The project included local decommissioning of subsea infrastructure to allow disconnection and recovery of an existing U spool and umbilical and installation of an E spool.

“From concept, through evaluation and execution, TS7 has been responsible for the engineering, procurement, fabrication and installation of the new E spool – a first in Australian deep water subsea construction,” the contracting alliance said.

The E spool is intended to enhance Enfield field production. The deep water installation (550m water depth) was carried out by TS7’s construction vessel Rockwater 2 using a steel cradle support structure allowing an efficient and flexible installation sequencing, thereby minimising local field shut in, according to TS7 chief executive Robin King.

“The strategic importance of the Enfield 2007 production enhancement project was recognised at a very early stage by WEL and TS7,” King said.

“The project was fast track, with a very challenging scope of work and dynamic schedule. However the project team has worked closely with the WEL to successfully manage and execute the project safely, on schedule, under budget.”

The project was awarded by Woodside Energy in April and execution began in October.
