THE increasing interest by oilers in south-western Africa is generating addition work for support services firms as the drilling tempo increases off Namibia and South Africa with Total chartering two vessels from Norway’s Solstad Farstad.

Normand Ranger

The Normand Ranger large anchor handling vessel and the Far Starling platform supply vessel will assist in Total's planned South African drilling campaign for one firm well with a one well option in Block 11B/12B.
 
Drilling is planned to begin before the end of the year, with 90 days planned for the firm well plus mobilisation and demobilisation time.
