IMO legislation set to pass senate

NATIONAL legislation implementing the International Maritime Organisation cap on sulphur content in shipping fuels has been introduced to the senate for its final reading, but concerns have been raised by Tasmanian Labor Senator Carol Brown on what effect the new worldwide regulations could have on prices.

From January 1 2020, the IMO will implement a new regulation for a 0.5% global sulphur cap for marine fuels, down from 3.5% now.
