This just in: Santos takes Quadrant

THE rumours that have been buzzing through Australia’s energy sector for much of this year are true. Santos announced late today it was taking over Western Australia’s Quadrant Energy at a price of US$2.15 billion plus potential payments related to the Bedout Basin, where Quadrant operates the Dorado and Phoenix South projects known for their recent, “staggering” oil finds.
