Hydrogen cars trialled at Melbourne council

HYDROGEN-powered transport is gaining momentum and this week, Toyota announced it has partnered with a Melbourne council to test its Mirai Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles for 12 weeks under a variety of conditions.

Toyota is not the first company to design hydrogen-powered emissions-free cars, or for that matter the first company to engineer hydrogen-powered forklifts, but it is the first to provide the vehicles to a local council for members of the public to drive and test over the next three months. 
 
During that time, the vehicles will predominantly be made available to Hobson Bay staffers for work transport in place of the current fleet of council cars and vehicles.
