SOUTH AUSTRALIA’s home battery subsidy scheme could be extended by the state Liberal government as it looks to extend battery availability to rental properties, property developers and aged care facilities, while its virtual power plant scheme will help form Australian Electricity Market Operator’s new standards.

In a statement released on Wednesday, the state's energy minister Dan van Holst Pellekaan said there was community interest in the subsidy scheme being opened up to new customers.
