Ship hybrid conversion needs to start now to meet targets

THE shipping industry has some lofty goals to achieve to meet the International Maritime Organisation targets, but the long shelf life of ships means conversion from heavy to LNG or hybrid-based fuels needs to start now, Wartsila boss Sanjay Verma told the Australasian Oil and Gas conference this morning.
