AUSTROM Hydrogen is positioning itself to capitalise on Gladstone LNG infrastructure after acquiring enough land to develop a 3.6GW solar farm and battery facility near Callide, which could produce around 200,000 tonnes of hydrogen per year.

The start-up company's Pacific Solar Hydrogen project would be located 70km from Gladstone and has begun initial environmental impact studies and irradiance monitoring.
