Grid-scale batteries to replace Liddell coal: AGL

AGL Energy will replace its aging Liddel coal-fired power station in New South Wales’ coal-rich Hunter region, due to start coming offline from 2023, with 1,000 megawatts of battery power, with an initial 500MW and the possibility to later scale up.
