Matuku a compelling prospect for OMV

AUSTRIAN giant OMV is aiming to secure a rig to drill the Matuku prospect after confirming the offshore Taranaki prospect was a valid structural closure with an estimated mean recoverable resource of 65 million barrels.

The validity of Matuku, which lies in PEP 51906, was confirmed following a variety of studies including the mapping and interpretation of a 3D seismic survey over the prospect.
