Simulations of a gas explosion on an offshore platform, and the subsequent evacuation and emergency treatment of 17 'injured' personnel, helped RPH and WA emergency services deal with the reality of the 28 casualties from the Bali bombing that ended up in RPH.
Woodside Energy matched dollar-for-dollar its employee's fundraising efforts of $34,000 making a total of $68,000.
More than half of the money raised will go to the Balinese victims while the rest will remain in WA. The money sent to Bali will go towards medical costs, employment programs, education and rebuilding.
Last week, Woodside workers gave the RPH burns unit a cheque for $14,000 and according to burns unit chief, Dr Fiona Wood, the money will be used to buy equipment to assist in the healing of deep burns injuries.
