US President George W. Bush has signed a presidential decree renewing sanctions that bars US comp...

In a statement to the media, the US president said, “The actions and policies of the Government of Iran continue to pose an unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security, foreign policy, and economy of the United States.”

“[I am against their] support for international terrorism, efforts to undermine the Middle East peace process, and acquisition of weapons of mass destruction and the means to deliver them,” added Bush.

This move comes on the back of the US government pressing for sanctions against the Middle Eastern country over its nuclear program. Iran has long stated that its nuclear program was for generating electricity.
